A tour of the statistics of your Online library

Hello Friends of publica.la, today I will show you that statistics can be seen in your work panel within your Online library and how you can use them to improve the performance of your content.

The first thing you have to do is enter your Online library and then enter your work panel. If you know how to do it simply skip the reading to step 3, but start following the instructions from the next paragraph. Of course you can also opt to see our video of how to do it by clicking here.

Step 1 — Enter your Online library

For that you must enter the URL (Web address) of your library, we will use for this example the following: http://test.publica.la/and click on “Enter”.

If your session is open you should simply proceed to step two.

If not, you will see the screen below and you must enter your account the way you usually do (either with your Facebook account, your Google account or your username and password). If you have problems entering your Online library, do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected]

Then at the end of the entry process you will see the “Home” or home screen of your Online library. It should be seen as the following example (but with the colors and characteristics of your brand):

Step 2-Enter your work panel

To access to your work panel, you must have an administrator account in the Online library you entered. To be able to use it, you must click on the arrow next to your profile image and select the Dashboard option.

When you enter you will see the Panel start screen. There you will click on the “analytics” option.

3-Go through the statistics of your library

The Analytics tab has 5 sections:

A) Page views:

In this section you can see how many users (in the “Users” column) read from each of the different devices. The device options are: Desktop (computer), mobile (cell phone), and tablet. For example, in the image below you will see that more than 62% (6576 over 10484) of the total users read publications from a cell phone. You can also see in the Page Views column, how many pages, at its nominal value, were read from each of the devices.

B) Average duration of Reading:

In this section you will be able to see to your left the “average Duration of the meeting”, which is not another thing than the average time that each of your users keeps on consuming your publications.

Then in the graph of the right you will be able to see the meetings quantity per day in the last 30 days. This shows the times quantity that at least one of your users began to consume your publications.

With these two metric ones you can know (between other questions):

  • What day of the month (or of the week) do your users consume your contents? And this way to publish your special contents in these days or to throw your weekly publication in the correct day.
  • How does it fluctuate the average reading time? (You should take a record of this metrics, observe if it rises or goes down and to evaluate if your content improves or not over the course of time).

C) Place of the meetings:

In this section you will be able to see since country of the world the visits were realized to your digital library. In the right sector you will be able to see the main 5 countries, but if you spend the mouse on the map you will be able to see in an interactive way the meetings quantity in each of the countries of the world.

D) Content:

In this section you will find the 8 most visited contents of your library in the last 30 days. This way you will be able to know which there are the contents that your users more value, to identify a constant (or some main characteristics) and to extract conclusions so that the new contents that you glide to create are a whole success.

E) Sources:

Finally, this section shows where from your users came to your digital library. This way, if you are investing in advertizing campaigns or taking forward actions of Marketing, you will be able to know which there are the most valuable traffic sources for you and your business.
