Content Management
Your Entire Catalog, Ingested Your Way
From a single title uploaded by hand to tens of thousands of products flowing in from your distributor: four ingestion paths, one organized, protected, and always up-to-date catalog.
Four Ways In
Pick the ingestion path that matches your workflow — or combine them.
Automated
ONIX Feeds
Connect your distributor or catalog system through automated ONIX 3.0 feeds delivered over SFTP. Products are created and updated with no manual intervention — used in production with partners like Bookwire and Ingram.
- Full metadata mapping: titles, contributors, BISAC and Thema subjects, keywords, prices, territories
- Accessibility metadata (ONIX List 196) becomes store-level badges and filters
- Newer records update your catalog automatically — including scheduled price changes
Programmatic
REST API
The Content API v3 gives you full CRUD control of the catalog: create, update, and delete products, replace files, manage audiobook tracks, and sync incrementally from your own systems.
- Bulk endpoint creates up to 50 products per call for large migrations
- Multi-currency and scheduled pricing, identifiers, geo-restrictions, and custom metadata
- Incremental sync via update timestamps, with cursor pagination and response shaping
Self-service
Bulk Import
The Content Import Panel takes a metadata spreadsheet plus your content files, validates everything, and ingests in batches — up to 500 files per import, straight from the browser.
- Spreadsheet validation with row-level error reports you can download and fix
- Import history with status tracking, plus a dedicated flow to swap files on already-published products
- Bulk metadata updates via spreadsheet without re-uploading any files
One by one
Manual Upload
Drag and drop a file in the control panel, fill in the metadata — only the title is required to get started — and publish. The fastest path for small catalogs and one-off releases.
- Guided upload for ebooks and audiobooks, with a track manager for multi-file audio
- Edit metadata, replace covers, and update files at any time
- File updates preserve sales, access, and reading stats

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about content ingestion and management
ONIX 3.0 with reference tags, delivered over SFTP. Each product record is processed as a full snapshot: metadata, prices, territories, contributors, subjects, and accessibility codes are mapped automatically, and newer records update the catalog without manual work.
For thousands of titles, combine the Content Import Panel (spreadsheet plus files, up to 500 files per import, with validation and downloadable error reports) with the API's bulk endpoint (up to 50 products per call). Ongoing updates can then flow through ONIX or the API.
EPUB (2 and 3, reflowable and fixed layout), PDF, and MP3 audiobooks — plus physical products and external-link products. Files are processed and optimized automatically on ingestion.
Yes. Replace the file individually, through the Import Panel's file-update flow, or via API. The product keeps its sales, access rights, and statistics, and the new file is reprocessed automatically.
Yes. Accessibility metadata from ONIX (List 196) — EPUB Accessibility and WCAG conformance, navigation features, and more — is ingested and surfaced as accessibility badges and filters in your store, which helps with European Accessibility Act readiness.
