What Origami can do today
Origami already covers the production line most publishers stitch together from separate tools:
- EPUB validation. Runs epubcheck, the canonical W3C validator retailers and stores use, and turns its output into a report grouped by severity and tied to the exact spot in the file. If it passes in Origami, it passes with the stores.
- Accessibility checking and AI repair. Audits each title with Ace by DAISY against WCAG 2.1 AA and EPUB Accessibility 1.1, so you can see exactly where a file falls short of the European Accessibility Act — and repair the mechanical issues automatically.
- Quality checklist. Cross-references conformance and accessibility against the Qualebook checklist — 88 industry rules — to give you one clear verdict: ready, needs attention, or review by hand.
- Metadata and ONIX. Extract and enrich metadata, edit it, and export a clean ONIX file ready for your distribution partners.
- AI descriptions. Generate back-cover blurbs and store descriptions straight from the full text of the book.
- Repair and conversions. Fix broken EPUBs, optimize heavy assets, work with PDFs (diagnosis, accessibility, tagging, alt text) and convert PDFs into clean, reflowable EPUBs.
